1989
A Small-Town Beginning
Door-to-door sales became my first unexpected training ground in the human heart. With every smile received, every rejection endured, and every story shared on a stranger’s doorstep, I learned to listen beneath the surface. I began to see people, really see them, their hopes, their weariness, their longing to be understood. Without knowing it, God was already teaching me how to shepherd souls in ordinary places.
Sawdust and the Apprenticeship of Character
I was raised in a small country town where red dust settled on our boots and honesty settled into our bones. Life was simple and slow, shaped by people who loved through labour rather than language. In those early years, I learned to work with my hands, honour my word, and show up even when unseen. I didn’t recognise it at the time, but a quiet divine hand was shaping me, not for ambition, but for purpose; not for status, but for service.
2000's
The Front-Step Classroom
My first job in door-to-door sales became an unexpected classroom in human nature. Every smile, every rejection, every awkward chat on a front step, and every door slammed in my face taught me something. I learned how to connect with people quickly, how to read their energy, how to meet them where they were.
The Refinery of Real Estate
Real estate came next, sharp, fast, and relentless. It demanded growth, resilience, and quick thinking. I succeeded, I learned, and I adapted. Yet beneath the momentum, something in me stayed unsettled. The dishonesty woven through the industry pressed against the deeper truths I carried within. That friction didn’t break me; it refined me, revealing the kind of leader I could not pretend to be and the kind of leader God was slowly forming.
Building Something of My Own
Starting my own property company was an act of integrity, a chance to build something aligned with my values from the ground up. The business grew quickly, spanning homes, commercial assets, business sales, and leasing. Yet the real work wasn’t in the contracts I signed but in the conversations that unfolded. Clients began confiding in me about their fears, their futures, their lives. I asked questions that opened pathways. Long before I understood it, the coach in me was awakening.
The First Invitation to Guide Others
Everything shifted when a Non-Government Organisation invited me to coach their clients and staff. It felt less like a new opportunity and more like a quiet confirmation, as though the whisper that had followed me through every season finally spoke clearly. Guiding people didn’t feel foreign. It felt familiar, natural, almost remembered. For the first time, I recognised coaching not as a skill but as part of my calling.
2016
The Surrendered Leap into Coaching
As the desire to coach grew stronger, I sensed God inviting me into a deeper surrender. I sold my property company, releasing the identity I had built so that I could step into the identity God was forming. It was not a leap into certainty but into trust. I entered full-time coaching with open hands, allowing the Spirit to guide my steps, one prompting at a time.
The Unexpected Studio Door
A door opened that I had not imagined the opportunity to create a yoga and mindfulness studio. The studio became another sacred space where I learned to hold people gently, to witness transformation, and to lead from stillness rather than striving.
Choosing the Path I Was Formed For
Over time, through countless conversations and quiet moments of clarity, the truth crystallised: coaching wasn’t just something I was capable of it was the work I had been formed for since the beginning. With gratitude and conviction, I sold the studio and stepped fully into coaching, leadership, and transformation work. This marked the true beginning of the calling I now walk with reverence.
Stepping Into Larger Arenas
As the years unfolded, doors opened into larger enterprises and councils. I found myself in rooms shaping leadership, culture, and strategy for entire communities. I did not chase these moments; God opened them in His timing. The seeds planted in red dust and sawdust now bore fruit in places where influence carried weight and purpose demanded depth.
Called Into the Nation’s Work
Ive been invited into the work of several federal government agencies, guiding teams responsible for decisions that shaped the nation. These were sobering, sacred spaces. I entered them quietly, aware that leadership is not about being important, but about being entrusted. These years taught me reverence for influence and the importance of integrity at every level of society.
Serving Global Organisations
Today, I work with global organisations across continents, guiding hundreds of thounsands of people and large systems through transformation. Yet after all the roads travelled, one truth anchors me: none of this is by my wisdom or power. It is Christ who works through me. My role, as it has always been, is to stay surrendered, stay humble, and stay aligned with the One who has guided me since the days of red dust and riverbanks.
